Behind the Design Curtain ✨

As a product designer, my focus lies in leveraging data, refining processes, and fostering collaborative teamwork to create strategic, thoughtful, user-centric solutions.

In my most recent role as a Contract Web Designer for Richmond Capital Management, I led discovery research, art direction, content creation and concept development for a responsive website redesign. This involved direct collaboration with the company’s board and president, ensuring the final product aligned with their vision and goals.

At my core, I am a big-picture thinker with an affinity for the intricate details. My journey into product design has been enriched by DesignLab and my mentor, who have graciously passed on their knowledge and tools.  I plan to one day pay it forward through the mentorship of others making their way into this dynamic field.  Until then, I look forward to absorbing insights from various perspectives, remaining constantly inquisitive and acquiring new skill sets, in both my professional and personal life.

Background

Embarking on a four-year fashion journey across the vibrant UK, I immersed myself in the creative hubs of London and Leicester. Early success came at London Graduate Fashion Week, landing my designs in British Vogue’s digital pages and propelling the launch of my brand and start up, Bossy Lingerie in 2015, which garnered 9,000 followers, a showcase with RAW Artists, and online sales of my handmade pieces.

Evolving into the corporate design realm, I adeptly navigated diverse roles encompassing business operations, freelance graphic design, global product sourcing, men's custom suiting and tailoring, as well as menswear design.  Complementing this trajectory, I delved into a comprehensive business course, further fueling my passion for understanding the intricate dynamics of entrepreneurship and the keys to successful start-ups.

When I'm not conjuring up designs, you'll probably find me:

🪴 Digging in soil, pretending I'm a gardening maestro

🧩 Tackling a puzzle that's likely both frustrating and enthralling

🎬 Diving into documentaries, usually on cults or true crime - because, why not?

🎾 Playing tennis with far less finesse than in my teenage years

🎷 Listening to jazz music while cooking - yes, bad dancing is involved

🛠️ Knee-deep in a home improvement project, probably questioning my DIY skills

🪑 Learning the art of woodworking
